Fisher Student Scholars

We are proud of our Fisher Scholars and all of their accomplishments both prior to entering and while attending Towson University.  Learn about the current Fisher Student Scholars, their year of admission, the specific scholarship they were awarded, and a brief background at the time of their matriculation. 

 John Burke, 2025

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship

John graduated from Great Mills High School in St. Mary's County, Maryland and is enrolled as a computer science major at Towson University in the fall 2025.  While at Great Mills High School, John was enrolled in the school's STEM Academy, and he took several Advanced Placement courses in computer science.  John was a member of the National Honor Society and was elected to be secretary of his graduating class.  Outside of the classroom, John was on the school's cross country and tennis teams; and over the summer he had an internship with the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s Next Generation Workforce Program.  After graduating from Towson University, John plans to earn to work as a computer scientist, and work to remedy ethical usage problems so to keep technology safe and accessible for future generations.

Natalie Gregory, 2025

Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship

Natalie graduated from Sherwood High School in Montgomery County, Maryland and is enrolled as a mathematics secondary education major at Towson University in the fall 2024. While at Sherwood High School, she enrolled in numerous honors and advanced placement courses and maintained a 3.96 (out of 4.00) grade point average.  Outside of her classwork, Natalie was heavily involved in the school's theater arts program, and tutored other students in Honors precalculus.  After graduating from Towson University, Natalie hopes to get a Maryland Teaching Fellowship work for two years at a Title I school.  After completing those two years, she plans to teach in a high school and then eventually working at a community college.

Matthew Murphy, 2025

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship

Matthew graduated from South Carroll High School in Carroll County, Maryland and is enrolled as a molecular biology, biochemistry and bioinformatics (MB3) major at Towson University in the fall 2024.  While at South Carroll High School, in addition to the standard course work, he enrolled in many honors and AP science and mathematics courses and completed high school with a perfect 4.00 GPA and graduated in the top 1% of his class.  Matthew was a member of the National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society. Outside of the classroom, Matthew played on the school's varsity soccer team.  He volunteered in the community earning over 200 hours of service.  After graduating from Towson University, Matthew plans to earn a master’s degree possibly working as a physician assistant.

Nicholas Murphy, 2025

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship

Nicholas graduated from South Carroll High School in Carroll County, Maryland and is enrolled as a biology major at Towson University in the fall 2024.  While at South Carroll High School, he enrolled in many honors and AP courses and maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA .  Nicholas was a member of the National Honor Society and the Science National Honor Society.  He is recognized as a Scholar Athlete and is a recipient of the AP Scholar Award and AP Scholar with Distinction through College Board.   Outside of the classroom, Nicholas played on the school's varsity soccer team.  He volunteered in the community earning over 200 hours of service.  After graduating from Towson University, Nicholas plans to begin a career in the field of molecular biology so that he can pursue his interests of studying the microscopic world.  Along with this, Nicholas hopes to develop scientific advancements in order to support humanity and make life on earth a better and safer place for all living organisms.

Mia DeVito, 2024

Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship

Mia graduated from West Chester East High School in West Chester, Pennsylvania and is enrolled as a biology major at Towson University in the fall 2024. While at West Chester East High School, she enrolled in numerous honors and advanced placement courses all while also being a four-year member of the school orchestra and choirc strings.  Outside of school, Mia volunteered countless hours at the Chester County Hospital as an Ambassador who assists patients to their appointments, discharges patients, takes specimens to the lab, etc.  She has been a dancer since age five and now spends time sharing this passion by mentoring young dancers with special needs.  After graduating from Towson University, Mia plans to attend medical school.  After earning her medical degree, she plans to complete a residency and fellowship in pathology and work in a hospital setting.

Ayodeji Fadairo, 2024

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship

Ayodeji graduated from Woodlawn High School in Baltimore County, Maryland and is enrolled as a computer science major at Towson University in the fall 2024.  While at Woodlawn High School, in addition to the standard course work, he enrolled in community college courses towards earning an AA degree.  After graduating from Towson University, Ayodeji plans to earn a master’s degree in computer science, and the start his own web design business.

Jayce Schumaker, 2024

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship

Jayce graduated from Boonsboro High School in Washington County, Maryland and is enrolled as a dual degree physics and engineering major at Towson University in the fall 2024.  While at Boonsboro High School, in addition to the standard course work, he enrolled in honors and AP physics.  Jayce was a member of the National Honor Society, and he mentored incoming students at Boonsboro High School. Outside of the classroom, Jayce played basketball, golf and lacrosse, and was the lacrosse team captain in his senior year.  One of his most memorable and impactful community service activities was volunteering to serve a meal with It’s a Blessing to Be a Blessing in Hagerstown, Maryland.  After graduating from Towson University, Jayce plans to earn a master’s degree in engineering, and obtain a job in engineering.

Annalise Bocklage, 2023

Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship

Annalise graduated from Rising Sun High School in Cecil County, Maryland and is enrolled as an environmental science major at Towson University in the fall 2023. While at Mount Hebron High School, she took many honors and advanced placement courses and was a member of the Rising Sun National Honors Society.  Annalise’s extracurricular activities included playing varsity field hockey and lacrosse, participating in the school's marching band, and a leadership position in the Environthon team.  Outside of school, she was active in the Girl Scouts and worked as a camp counselor.  After graduating from Towson University, Annalise plans to become a water conservation scientist for the National Park Service.

Makenzie Earle, 2023

Makenzie graduated from Maurice J. McDonough High School in Charles County, Maryland and is enrolled as a physics major at Towson University in the fall 2023. While at Maurice McDonough High School, she excelled in the schools honor classes. When not in class, Makenzie participated in the schools concert band and on the soccer team. After graduating from Towson University, she plans on pursuing her interest in astrophysics.

Brady Nathison, 2023

Jess Fisher Pre-Engineering Scholarship

Brady graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School in  Fuquay-Varina , North Carolina and is enrolled as a computational physics major at Towson University in the fall 2023.  While at Fuquay-Varina High School, in addition to the standard course work, he enrolled in classes in engineering graphics, statistics, and physics.  Outside of the classroom, Brady played varsity baseball; and he will be playing on the Towson University baseball team this year.  After graduating from Towson University, he plans to continue at graduate school in mechanical engineering.

Vi Nguyen, 2023

Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship

Vi graduated from Eastern Technical High School in Baltimore County, Maryland and is enrolled as a computer science major at Towson University in the fall 2023.  While at Eastern Technical High School, he was enrolled almost exclusively gifted and talented, honors, advanced placement and college credit courses.  In his senior year, Vi participated in a work-study program at thee Department of Defense.  In addition he was a member of the school’s CyberPatriot team.  Outside of classwork, Vi was the founder and president of the school’s Origami Club.  After graduating from Towson University, he plans to begin a career at the Department of Defense.

Gabriella Trincia, 2023

Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship

Gabriella  graduated from Conrad Schools of Science in Wilmington, Delaware and is enrolled as a forensic chemistry major at Towson University in the fall 2023.  While at the Conrad Schools of Science, she took the advanced placement and honors courses and specialized in the series of biotechnology courses.  Among the extracurricular activities, Gabriella serves a a laboratory aide for the Biotechnology I course.  After graduating from Towson University, she plans to embark on  career as a crime scene investigator for he FBI’s Forensic Examination Services.

Jennafer Buckshaw, 2022

Jess Fisher FCSM Scholarship

Jennafer graduated from Mount Hebron High School in Howard County, Maryland and is enrolled as a forensic chemistry major at Towson University in the fall 2022. While at Mount Hebron High School, Jennafer also took classes at the Biotechnology Career Academy for Howard County Public Schools where she enrolled in advanced coursework in topics related to the application of Biotechnology in Forensic Science, Virology, Microbial Ecology, Genetic and Inherited Diseases among others.  She was involved in the schools Dance club and multiple other extracurricular clubs. After graduating from Towson University, Jennafer plans to continue on towards a Ph.D and then workiin the field of forensic science.
